Deliveries are increasingly important services in cities. This is first and foremost due to the spreading trend of online purchases. But inner cities suffer from the increase of motorized deliveries, which is projected to soon reach a the bearable limit. Fortunately, several studies come to the conclusion that a large share of inner city delivery services could be carried out by cargo bicycles.
However, many questions remain: Which framework conditions are necessary for this transition to cargo bicicle deliveries? Which is the scope of influence of municipalities, regions (Länder) and the federal administration? These issues will be discussed at a parlamentarian evening together with experts from industry, civil society and politics. The welcoming address will be followed by three short keynote speeches and an open panel discussion.
The parlamentarian evening is organized by the Bicycle Academy of the German Institute for Urbanism (Difu) and will take place on the
